White Paper: Powered by School Food Professionals.
In 2024, three nonprofits came together to launch The Powered by School Food Professionals campaign, an effort to elevate the perceptions of California’s school food professionals. In 2025, Food for Climate League (now BITE) contracted me to produce a white paper telling the story behind the campaign. I produced the resulting 14,000-word piece in partnership with a talented data scientist after analyzing months of results and interviewing dozens of stakeholders, turning the hard work of California’s SFPs into a compelling story of passion and success.

Food is so much more than a source of nourishment. It’s a form of caretaking, a cultural rite and a common ground. For FoodService Director’s annual Big Idea issue, I focused on the role of food — and foodservice professionals — in building community.
